Neuschwanstein tickets onlineImportant: Before visiting Schloss Neuschwanstein, you have to realise that 10,000 visitors want to visit the fairytale castle per day in the high season. Waiting lines at the ticket center and castle are usually around 3 hours in the high season! There is also a large risk that the tickets for the day will be sold out by lunchtime.

You can buy your tickets for Neuschwanstein Castle in the following 3 ways:

1. Ticket center

Regular tickets on the day itself at the Neuschwanstein Ticket center in Hohenschwangau: Make sure you are at the Ticket center in the centre (not at the castle!) of Hohenschangau early in the morning. Waiting lines at the ticket center and castle can run up to 3 hours in the high season. If you are late, all tickets will be sold out. No tickets are sold for the following days. You can currently also book tickets in advance via the official website.

  • 1 April - 15 October: Daily from 8:00 - 16:00h
  • Closed on December 24th, December 25th, December 31st and January 1st

2. Guided tours to Neuschwanstein Castle

Thankfully, you can now reserve tours online easily. With these guided Neuschwanstein tours you will avoid the waiting line at the ticket center. Do reserve this tour a couple of days prior to your visit. You pay a surcharge for this service, but this tour will save a couple of waiting hours and includes for example your guides.   • Tickets adults: 47 euro
  • Children up to 17 years: 22 euro
  • The price is including a mandatory tour of 30 minutes inside the castle, with an English speaking guide.
  • Deutsche Pünktlichkeit: Make sure you are present at the times indicated, otherwise your entrance ticket will expire!
  • After the tour, on the 2nd floor of the castle you can watch a free 'multivision show' about King Ludwig II and the history of Neuschwanstein.
  • Photographing and filming is forbidden in the castle
  • Backpacks, strollers and child carriers may not be taken into the lock. Leave it in your car or in the baggage lockers. Only small hand luggage is allowed.
